FAQ for Vesting Account
Can the wallet I regularly use become a vesting wallet?
No. The recipient wallet must be brand new with no transaction history. Each wallet can only become a vesting wallet once.
Are there limits on initiating vesting transactions?
No. You can initiate as many vesting transactions as you like. However, since each one is an on-chain transaction, make sure to reserve enough gas to cover the fee.
How can I view my vesting details?
Go to the Uptick-Cosmos Chain and select Uptick Token to view details about your vesting transaction, including:
Vesting periods and total locked amount
Unlock schedule and amount released per period
Current available balance
Full transaction history
Can I use the tokens in my vesting account?
Token Transfers You can only transfer tokens after they’ve been unlocked. Make sure to check your available balance before attempting a transfer.
Staking Locked tokens can still be staked to earn rewards. The staking process works the same as with a regular wallet.
Can I cancel or change a vesting schedule after it’s sent?
No. Once a vesting transaction is submitted and confirmed on-chain, the schedule is fixed and cannot be modified or revoked.
What happens if I send tokens to a wallet that already has a transaction history?
The transaction will not initiate. Upward Wallet will display an error message if the recipient wallet has any prior token activity, as only brand new wallets can be used for vesting.
Do I need to manually claim unlocked tokens?
No. Unlocked tokens are automatically available in the vesting wallet’s spendable balance once their scheduled release time has passed.
Can I use a vesting account on the Uptick-EVM side?
Vesting accounts are a native feature of the Cosmos SDK, and all vesting-related functionality must be accessed through the Uptick-Cosmos side. On the Uptick-EVM side, the same address functions as a regular account and does not retain any vesting logic.
You can transfer the available (unlocked) balance as usual, but any actions involving locked tokens are not supported.
