How to issue credentials?

Step 1 | Select Credential Schema

Start by choosing the type of credential you wish to issue. We currently offer two unified credential templates:

Business Card Ideal for issuing personal, organizational, or company business cards.

Competition Certificate Suitable for issuing participation or award certificates for competitions.

We plan to offer more types of credentials, including personal records, educational degrees, proof of employment, and more. Additionally, we aim to introduce custom credential features, allowing users to set the properties and parameters of their credentials themselves.

Step 2 | Select Design

After selecting the credential schema, you can upload an image to customize it. We currently offer two design styles: A4 Landscape and A4 Portrait.

If you’d like to create your credential design in advance, the ‘Designer’ option is available in the left-side menu. Once you’ve saved your design, you can click the ‘Use Design’ button to skip the design steps during the creation process.

Step 3 | Add Recipients

We offer two methods for issuing credentials:

Direct Issue Issue credentials directly using the holder’s known DID. You can issue multiple credentials with different attributes at once.

Credential Link Generate a credential link with a QR code, allowing anyone with the link to access the credential. You can set the validity period and the maximum number of credentials, but the attributes must remain consistent.

In both methods, you’ll need to assign the attribute values for the credentials. The key difference is whether you input the holders’ DID.

Click the ‘Add Manually’ button in the upper right corner to access the settings page. You’ll need to assign the credentials individually.

Once all credentials have been entered, click ‘Send Credentials’ to proceed to the final step.

Step 4 | Send Credentials

You’ve now reached the final step of credential issuance. Simply select the issuer DID and, if needed, set an expiration date for the credential.

If you submit a ‘Direct Issue’ credential, it will be immediately issued on the Uptick Network chain. Because the credentials are securely recorded on-chain, this process may take some time, so please be patient. Once the credentials are issued, you can find and manage them under the ‘Direct Issue’ tab.

If you submit a ‘Credential Link’ type credential, it will be issued once the holder receives it through the link or QR code.
